Wollongong Police are asking for our help as they investigate an alleged assault in Gwynneville.
About 7.45pm on Monday 20 October 2025 emergency services were called to Vickery Street, Gwynneville following reports of a man being assaulted.
NSW Ambulance responded and treated a 58-year-old man for injuries to his eye, back, elbow and ankle. He was taken to Wollongong Hospital for treatment.
Officers attached to Wollongong Police District attended and were told the man was walking north along the eastern side of Vickery Street when he spoke with a group of women in a stationary silver utility, and two men standing nearby.
One of the men standing next to the vehicle punched the man, causing him to fall to the ground, before he was kicked, two other vehicles arrived, with the two men who had been standing near the utility leaving in one of them.
Police would like to speak to a man described as being of Caucasian appearance, large build and wearing a light coloured shirt and shorts at the time of the incident, they believe he could assist with their inquiries.
