A tragedy has rocked the BlueScope steelworks at Port Kembla.
In a statement, a BlueScope spokesperson says that just before 10.30am Monday morning, a fatal incident occurred at the Port Kembla Steelworks, involving a male contractor in his mid-twenties, who was working opposite the Number 5 Stockhouse.
It’s understood a steel beam being lifted by a crane has fallen and fatally struck the contractor.

Bluescope says its immediate priority is supporting their people, the first responders, and the family of those involved.
