NSW Police advise that five day of double demerits are now in force across the state.
From now until late Monday night, all speeding, mobile phone and seatbelt offences will cost you double demerit points.
Advice as well is you’re going away this long weekend – make sure to plan your trip:
• Have you checked your vehicle is road worthy, tyres have tread and are at the correct pressure for the amount of people and load in the vehicle.
• Do you have the equipment you need if you need to change the tyre on your vehicle?
• Plan out your trip with regular stops to keep yourself alert and your family safe.
Fatigue-related crashes can happen on any trip, no matter how long or short or what time of day.
Think about how tired you are before you drive, recognise the early warning signs when driving, and know what to do to avoid driving tired.
