NSW Health Minister and Keira MP Ryan Park, has visited the construction for the new Shellharbour Hospital.
Mr Park saying the facility is set to open in 2027, $780 million has been committed and importantly the Government expect it to be complete in 2027.
This will be a hospital that’ll take some serious pressure off Wollongong Hospital, given the demands on that facility at the moment and it can’t come soon enough.
Mr Park adding, “We had to increase the budget by about an extra $60 or $70 million just to take into consideration a few extra things that we wanted to do, including the new helipad that is going to be located at the hospital; I wanted to make sure that we built a hospital right and got what we needed, and we went into that and got those additional funds.”
