Works are continuing on West Dapto Road with the project now at 74 per cent complete, and the road pavement works now underway.
The pavement works are focused around the western end, with this being completed in stages across the 1.75-kilometre-long site. The work is being phased to run concurrently with the ongoing drainage works to try to minimise the length of the road closure.
“It can be very difficult in sites like this because, visually, there might not seem to be significant leaps forward in project progression while in reality there has been a lot happening underground through services relocation’’ Lord Mayor of Wollongong Councillor Tania Brown said.
