The winner of the Kiama by-election has been called, with Councillor-elect Stan Jarrett to be welcomed at next Tuesday’s Ordinary Meeting.
After the last of the postal votes were handed to the NSW Electoral Commission on Friday, he emerged the winner from the 22 August 2026 poll by 202 votes over Michael Bowden, the only other candidate who nominated for the vacant post.
Kiama Mayor Cameron McDonald said the extremely close race reflected the way in which both candidates carried themselves during the by-election campaign.
