Wings Over Shellharbour set for this weekend

Airshows return to Illawarra skies with ‘Wings Over Shellharbour’ is set for this weekend at Shellharbour Airport.

Paul Bennet, chief pilot and founder of Paul Bennet Airshows, said we’re all in for a real treat, with aviation enthusiasts guaranteed to love what’s on the way.

Shellharbour local Riley McDonald is on the flight crew with the Paul Bennet show, securing a seat in the Sky Aces Formation Aerobatic Team.

The Royal Australian Air Force will fly up to six Pilatus PC-21 aircraft from the Roulette aerobatic team conducting a flying display, while the Air Force Hot Air Balloon will be on display as a static exhibit.

Heritage aircraft from No. 100 Squadron will also attend, including a Lockheed Hudson, CA-16 Wirraway, CAC Winjeel, Supermarine Spitfire Mk VIII and the CAC CA-18 Mustang.

Mark Hall, chief pilot of Jetflight Shellharbour, will also be performing in a L39 Albatross jet.
