Just before 9am today, police were called to a school on Fairwater Drive in Horsley due to concerns of a potential domestic violence-related incident.
Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police District Police attended and attempted to speak with a woman, who was in the driver’s seat of a car.
As the woman drove away, a male constable suffered a minor injury to his arm when he attempted to stop the driver.
The vehicle was sighted a short time later on the Princes Highway, Unanderra; however, when the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
The vehicle continued to travel west along the Princes Highway and travelled through local streets before stopping on Albert Street, Unanderra.
The driver – a 37-year-old woman – was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.
