Wollongong Council releases overview of achievements

Wollongong City Council has adopted the ‘Quarterly Review Statement December 2022’.

Council said the document provides an overview of achievements in October, November and December last year, against some key priority areas, and outlines where Council stands in their ‘operational and financial performance’.

Council said a few key outcomes for the quarter, include the completion of the extensive refurbishment of outdoor netball courts at Fred Finch Park, Council signing a ‘power purchase agreement’ in November 2022, with the city’s streetlights and 17 largest facilities operating on 100 percent renewable energy.

Other outcomes include the buy local campaign ‘We Shop the Gong’ was relaunched to encourage community to support local businesses and the local economy, and ‘cycling and pedestrian counts’ were collated, at key locations to inform usage and future priorities.
