700 property owners are now part of Wollongong’s newest suburb.

On Friday 5 May they became residents of ‘Stream Hill’.

The suburb name has been formally gazetted and in use from 5 May to formalise the new boundaries between Stream Hill and Kembla Grange.

The gazettal marks the end of a long process that started more than two years ago, involved multiple stages of community input, and has seen the new name endorsed by the Geographical Names Board and approved by the NSW State Government.

“There has been extensive community engagement in recent years about new suburbs being developed within West Dapto to accommodate the needs of this fast-growing area.

It’s exciting to see the finalisation of this suburb and the name come into daily use,’’ Wollongong City Lord Mayor Councillor Gordon Bradbery AM said.
