A man has been charged after allegedly defacing a war memorial obelisk in Austinmer.
Police arrested a 24-year-old near the Austinmer Surf Life Saving Club on Lawrence Hargrave Drive after responding to reports a person was writing offensive graffiti on the obelisk around 7.30 last night (Monday March 18).
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on April 9.
