Trial of long range drones for Surf Life Saving NSW

In potentially good news for the Illawarra, Surf Life Saving NSW has trialled long-range drones on the state’s Far North Coast.

Surf Life Saving NSW said the efforts have provided a glimpse into the enhanced coastal safety and emergency response capability the technology can provide.

The Long-Range UAV Project was held at Evans Head, south of Ballina for a week, and provided a platform for four operators and their systems, to be tested in a range of real-life scenarios.
