Solar and batteries for Illawarra public schools and childcare centres?

The NSW Labor Conference has backed a motion, calling for solar panels and battery storage at every public school, and childcare centre in the state, including the Illawarra.

It’s been welcomed by Parents for Climate, Future Ready Schools and the Electrical Trades Union, supporters say the rollout would create thousands of jobs and cut school energy costs.

They’re now calling on the State Government to commit funding.
