A petition has been started by Shellharbour MP Anna Watson, aimed at Shellharbour City Council.
Ms Watson said the Shellharbour City Council should be organising a free one-off kerbside rubbish collection across the entire Shellharbour Local Government Area.
She added that Wollongong City Council is already offering flood impacted residents a free on-call household cleanup.
