The NSW SES is advising Illawarra residents to get ready for an expected burst of damaging weather.
Forecasts show a complex coastal low-pressure system, could develop from late today and over the weekend, bringing widespread moderate to locally heavy rainfalls, damaging winds and heavy surf.
Daily rainfall totals between 50 to 100mm, and isolated falls exceeding 120mm are possible for parts of the Illawarra, along with damaging winds exceeding 90 km/h.
