Roadworks for the M1 and Berkeley

Pothole repair and re-surfacing on a tricky section of road, is underway by Wollongong City Council crews.

Council says the works have focused on the challenging stretch of road, between the two roundabouts on Northcliffe Drive at Berkeley, that provide access to the M1.

Council says the works will continue across this week, and the stretch of Northcliffe Drive between the Princes Highway on the west, and Bedford Street on the east, will be closed between 7pm-5am.

Nolan Street is recommended as the best detour and the M1 remains open – it’s just the on/off-ramps to Northcliffe Drive that will close.

Meantime, the M1 Princes Motorway will be affected by roadworks at various locations next week.

Transport for NSW says the locations, between Picton Road and Bulli Pass, and will be affected from Monday 13 March, to Monday 20 March, between 8pm and 5am, weather permitting.

Transport says the works, which include resurfacing the road in both directions.
