Region gets another earthquake

After the magnitude 3.6 earthquake near Appin on 28 May 2025, that was felt by many in the Illawarra, there’s been another one.

Geoscience Australia says a smaller ‘magnitude 2’ occurred at around 11.36pm Wednesday, reports are the quake was centred five-kays below the surface, about 150m west of the Hume Motorway at Menangle.

There are no reports of anyone in the Illawarra feeling the smaller quake at this time.
