Oak Flats woman charged with larceny

Police have charged a woman with larceny offences following inquiries into the alleged theft of cash from an elderly man in Shellharbour.

It will be alleged up to $130,000 was taken from the 84-year-old man at an aged care facility on Wallaroo Drive, Shellharbour, between December 2022 and March 2023, with the most recent incident allegedly occurring on Saturday 18 March 2023.

Officers attached to Lake Illawarra Police were notified and began an investigation.

Following inquiries, police attended a home on Barton Street, Oak Flats, about 12.20pm yesterday (Wednesday 29 March 2023), where they arrested a 63-year-old woman.

She was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where she was charged with three counts of larceny.

The Oak Flats woman was granted conditional bail to appear in Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 12 April 2023.
