Kiama and Unanderra fire stations will receive new staff from today, as Fire and Rescue NSW gets set to welcome new recruits.
172-new fire fighters will be added to the ranks from today, a ceremony taking place in Sydney later this morning celebrating the completion of their training courses.
100-permanent fire fighters will then be stationed across Sydney, while 72-on call personnel will get started in the regions.
