Most beaches likely to have pollution today after the rain

The state government’s Beach Watch scheme, says we can expects bacterial pollution at all but two-of our beaches today after the rain.

The only two-beaches likely to see ‘no pollution’ are Stanwell Park and Coledale beaches.

Every other beach stretching from Austinmer right down the coast to Seven Mile Beach will experience pollution to some level.

Beach Watch says as a general precaution, swimming at beaches in the Illawarra region should be avoided for up to one day after heavy rainfall, it uses rainfall data to predict the likelihood of bacterial contamination at beaches in the Illawarra.
