A large contingent of emergency professionals and volunteers, have come together for a major rescue exercise off Jervis Bay.
Surf Life Saving NSW, NSW Police, Federal Police and Marine Rescue crews, including from Port Kembla and Shellharbour, swung into action after a simulated whale strike that sent a vessel to the bottom.
Nearly thirty boats and jet-skis were involved in the operation, which involved plucking volunteer survivors from a life raft.
