The Illawarra’s top health official is stepping down after more than a decade in the role.
Margot Mains will leave the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District later this month, taking on a new role of leading a statewide effort tackling the growing number of aged care and NDIS patients stuck in NSW hospitals.
Currently, more than 1,300 people are currently stranded in hospital beds across the state.
