Levy to impact Shellharbour Council funds

At last night’s Shellharbour Council Meeting, Mayor Chris Homer says the increase in Emergency Services Levy will impact Council funds.

Mayor Homer said that in the era of climate change, local emergency services had come to the fore following the bushfires and floods, he says Council wanted to see these services well-funded and resourced.

However, Council would have to find the money somewhere else, or explain to the community that the organisation would have less money, to deliver services and facilities.
