Kiama Council has advised that in anticipation of an upcoming state by-election, potential candidates are reminded of the requirements for the placement of political signage.
Registered parties, groups, candidates and others may display posters relating to their election campaign from the start of the official opening of the election until seven (7) days after polling day at which time they must be removed.
Election advertising material must meet the requirements of the Commonwealth Electoral Act, the State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008 (SEPP) and Local Government (General) Regulation 2005.
