RDA Illawarra has welcomed the Australian Government’s decision to retain funding for key infrastructure
projects in the Illawarra following publication of findings from the Infrastructure Investment Review.

These projects include the Mt Ousley Interchange, Picton Road upgrade and Picton Bypass as well as M1
improvements between Bulli Tops and Picton Road.

“These projects were included in the Illawarra-Shoalhaven City Partnership proposal, championed by RDA
Illawarra, so it is fantastic that they will continue to be funded by the Australian Government,” RDA
Illawarra CEO Debra Murphy said.

The review resulted in the federal de-funding of 50 infrastructure projects across Australia, including car
parks, highway upgrades and fast rail.

Nationally, 400 projects will still be funded by the Australian Government, including transformative
infrastructure in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven.

A further six NSW projects will gain additional funding from the Australian Government, though none are in the Illawarra.
