Kiama MP Gareth Ward has resigned from the NSW Parliament, reportedly just moments before moves began to have him expelled.
Calls had been growing louder for Ward to resign from his post, after he was found guilty by a jury, of one count of sexual intercourse without consent, and three counts of indecent assault, against two young men.
His legal team brough a Supreme Court Injunction, attempting to block the NSW Parliament from expelling him, he is currently being held in Silverwater Jail, and will be sentenced on September 19.
