East Coast Low moves away, some roads still affected

The wild weather has left the Illawarra, with rainfall totals and the winds edging down since Wednesday afternoon.

Bellambi has just 9mm since 9am Wednesday, Albion Park 15, and Kiama 17mm.

As for the winds, gusts earlier this morning of 65 km/h at Bellambi, 69 at Albion Park, and 74 at Kiama.

Following the wild weather, Transport for NSW will have to keep the Illawarra Highway closed on Macquarie Pass.

The closure is between Tourist and Tongarra Mine roads, after scheduled overnight work following severe weather.

All traffic will continue to be detoured via Hume Highway, Picton and Mount Ousley roads, Transport the road to remain closed for at least 48 hours.

Also, a number of roads are also listed as ‘still closed’ due to flooding by Transport for NSW, they’re concentrated around the Albion Park, Tullimbar, and Calderwood areas.
