More Optus outages have communications leaders calling on a review.
At least nine Triple Zero calls from the Dapto area failed to reach emergency services between 3am and 12.20pm on Sunday.
Welfare checks have been made an all involved have been deemed to be well after the incident
But the Shadow Communications Minister Melissa Mcintosh is calling on a review into the telecommunications company.
“Exactly how many outages are there each year that we don’t know about?” Mcintosh said.
“On behalf of the Coalition, I am calling for an urgent, independent investigation, into not just Optus
but the full triple zero ecosystem.
“Australians must have confidence they can call Triple Zero, our most essential
telecommunications service, when they need it.”
Whitlam MP Carol Berry says they’re looking for answers.
“The Federal Government is following up with Optus to get answers around what has happened here and how we can be assured that this won’t happen again.” Berry said.
