Kiama Municipal Council is taking steps to address a fire compliance issue identified in Stage 5 of its Blue Haven Terralong retirement village.
Council advises that the issue came to light during routine refurbishment of three units, where contractors identified deficiencies in the internal cavity walls, this prompted a broader review and the engagement of an independent fire safety engineer.
The facility remains safe to occupy, and there is no immediate risk to residents or staff, but the construction issue results in a fire safety non-compliance.
