Top leadership at the University of Wollongong will face public ICAC hearings later this month.
The anti-corruption watchdog’s investigating a series of allegations around the conduct of senior executives, along with the university’s governance processes and decision-making.
The inquiry will probe three key areas – whether recruitment processes for governance roles were improperly influenced, whether consultancy work was inappropriately awarded, and whether conflicts of interest were effectively managed.
A central focus will be the handling of former vice-chancellor John Dewar’s links to consultancy firm KordaMentha, which was engaged by the university during his tenure.
The hearings follow a NSW parliamentary inquiry that recommended immediate action at the institution.
Public hearings are set to begin on June 22.
