Behind the Scenes – SOILCO Tour
Ever wondered what happens to your FOGO waste after it’s picked up from your home? This is your chance to find out first-hand.
As part of International Compost Awareness Week (4 – 10 May), we’re offering a limited number of behind-the-scenes tours of SOILCO’s facilities.
SOILCO are the locally-based company who give life to soil by recycling our food and garden waste through the FOGO green lid bin service.
These tours will show you SOILCO’s technologically advanced processing facility and follow the journey that turns your food scraps and garden organics into a rich soil conditioner.
To join one of the tours, you must:
- Be 15 years or older.
- Live in the Wollongong City Council area – you’ll need to show ID with your current address. There’s also a limit of no more than two people per household.
- Not have previously attended a SOILCO tour
- Wear enclosed footwear and long pants.
Each person on the tour will receive their own bag of GO-compost to take home and place on their garden.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of your tour.
Spaces are limited, and bookings are essential.
