Can’t donate Plasma, donation of funds also welcome at – GiveNow – Support Plasma for Life 2026
Around 130 plasma donations are needed every year to treat one person with a primary immunodeficiency. This highlights just how important regular plasma donors are.
Around 1 in 1,000 people are estimated to be affected by primary immunodeficiency. While these conditions can be rare, there are people living in communities across Australia who rely on plasma-derived treatments.
Plasma has more than 18 life-saving uses, including being used to make immunoglobulin treatments for people with immunodeficiencies.
For people with immunodeficiencies, their bodies may not produce enough antibodies to protect them from infections. Immunoglobulin made from donated plasma can provide those missing antibodies.
A plasma donation only takes up to an hour, and eligible donors can donate plasma as often as – every two weeks.
Mobile Lifeblood Donation Clinics also available in Albion Park, Shellharbour and Bellambi Wollongong Donor Centre | Australian Red Cross Lifeblood
