Wollongong City Council set to open its beaches

Wollongong City Council will unveil preparations, for what’s expected to be a busy summer on it’s beaches today.

While the flags at Wollongong’s 17-patrolled beaches from Stanwell Park to Windang will officially go up on Saturday 26 September 2026, the warmer weather has plenty of residents already getting in the water.

Council expects to once again see more than 1 million visitors head to its beaches.
