UOW Chancellor steps aside amid ICAC inquiry

The University of Wollongong has announced a leadership shift, with Chancellor Michael Still stepping aside.

Today’s move comes as ICAC conducts a public inquiry into allegations around conflicts of interest involving the university’s executive staff members.

UOW’s council board has appointed Greg West as Acting Chancellor, noting the focus remains on students, staff and core operations.

The university’s also confirmed it won’t comment further during the inquiry process.

Public hearings commence in Sydney on Monday, 22 June, and are expected to take around three weeks.
