Work’s begun on Calderwood’s long awaited public school and preschool, aimed at supporting the area’s booming population.
The new campus will cater to at least 550 students, and will feature 27 classrooms, including 3 support classrooms, a library, hall, and outdoor learning spaces.
A co-located preschool will also support 120 children a week, offering fee-free early education to local families.
The schools are expected to open Term 1 2028.
It’s one of several new school building projects the NSW Government’s undertaking across the Illawarra, alongside a new primary school and preschool at West Dapto, and new public preschools at Barrack Heights, Berkeley West, Hayes Park, Lake Heights, Lake Illawarra South, and Cringila public schools.
