NSW Police have arrested a 77-year-old man in Kempsey, charging him over a number of alleged historic sexual assaults, dating back to 1991.
Using Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy, detectives have linked the man to three attacks, including one in Kanahooka in the early hours of Saturday February 17, 1996, involving a 16-year-old girl.
About 1am on Saturday 17 February 1996, a 16-year-old girl accepted a lift from an unknown man in Kanahooka.
After driving for some time, he stopped the vehicle and sexually assaulted her before dropping her in Warrawong.
The man was refused bail and faces over 10-charges in Bail Division Local Court 1 today, 12 February 2026.
