A reminder for anyone driving into Wollongong on Crown Street this morning, it’ll be closed till around 10am near the hospital.
Authorities advise the shutdown is to allow a major upgrade for Wollongong Hospital, with a massive new MRI machine set to be installed.
A detour will be in place via New Dapto Rd, Loftus St and Darling St however traffic is expected to be very heavy.

Alternative routes in and out of Wollongong are available via Masters Road, Springhill Road and Corrimal Street to the south, and Memorial Drive – Princes Highway / Flinders Street to the north.
