SES Shellharbour
We are not able to conduct permanent repairs or perform routine property maintenance.
We can, however, assist with preparedness efforts, including the provision of sandbags in situations where there is a credible or demonstrated need.
Here’s what our dedicated volunteers can assist with:
Offering advice on how to prepare your property for severe weather
Providing the best possible support and emergency response to our community
Assist elderly or inform residents with sandbag delivery where appropriate
Please also be aware of what we cannot do:
Prioritise sandbagging ahead of life-threatening flood rescues or other critical emergency tasks
Supply large quantities of sandbags beyond what is reasonable for household protection
Collect or dispose of used or unused sandbags
What you can do to prepare:
Clear gutters, downpipes, and drains regularly
Trim overhanging trees or branches near your home
Arrange for timely repairs to any structural or drainage issues
Support neighbours, friends, or family members who may need help preparing
SANDBAGS will be available around Shellharbour from 12pm Tuesday
Albion Park Show Ground
Myimbarr Soccer Field Car Park, Flinders
Follow our page for important updates.
If you are physically unable to collect these, please call us to log a request on 132 500.
Wollongong City Council
Trucks delivered sand to five locations across the city to help residents fill their own sandbags and prepare their properties. The SES will supply bags at these locations, but we know these run out quickly.
The sand is at:
- Bellambi Boat Ramp Overflow carpark
- Fairy Meadow Beach carpark
- Fred Finch Park carpark, Berkeley
- Rex Jackson Oval, Walker Street, Helensburgh
- Kanahooka Park carpark, Kanahooka Rd, Dapto
