The Wollongong Local Government Area has made it into the top 10, when it comes to the number of winter fires, combined with no smoke alarm.
As the state government, kicks off Fire and Rescue NSW annual ‘Winter Fire Safety’ campaign, the Illawarra’s being reminded to make sure we take pre-cautions this winter.
Working smoke alarms, awareness of the dangers of kitchen fires, and the use of lithium-ion batteries are high on the watch list.
