Illawarra’s Bush Fire Risk Management Plan

The Illawarra is being called on to have their say on the ‘Bush Fire Risk Management Plan’.

The BFRMP is a document that maps and describes the level of bush fire risk across an area and sets out treatment strategies to minimise and mitigate the risk to the community over 5 years.

“Bush fires can affect our homes, livelihoods and communities with devastating
consequences,” said Bush Fire Risk Management Committee Executive Officer, Acting District
Manager Inspector David Bartlett.

“We encourage everyone to take the opportunity to review the draft plan and ensure any
concerns are addressed”, comments are invited on the Illawarra draft Bush Fire Risk Management Plan, the plan can also be viewed at the following locations:

  • Wollongong, Shellharbour, & Kiama Council libraries; and
  • RFS Illawarra District Office, 37 Airport Road, Albion Park Rail
