Today, millions of Aussies who are receiving Centrelink payments are set to receive an increase today. This increase applies to people who are receiving Age Pension, Jobseeker and Parenting Payment.
“To make sure our social security system delivers value for taxpayers it must be grounded in fairness, which is why we have made responsible adjustments to deeming rates. We’ll continue to make sure the system is there to support those who need it most, ensuring that everyone can make ends meet and no one gets left behind.” – Social Services Minister Tanya Plibersek
Age Pension receivers will see a maximum increase of $22.20 a fortnight. If couples are receiving payments they’ll see a maximum of $16.70 a fortnight.
Those on JobSeeker will see a maximum increase of $15.10, with couples receiving up to $13.80.
Parenting Payment recipients will go up to $19.60, and partnered rates going up to $13.80.
Commonwealth Rent Assistance will go up by a maximum of $4 or $3.80 for partnered rates.
ABSTUDY recipients will receive up to $15.10.
