PlayStation’s New Hyperpop Controllers & Cases are Certainly a “Vibe”

If your gaming desk currently looks a bit… well, dull, PlayStation Australia has decided it’s time for a glow-up. Say hello to the Hyperpop Collection, a trio of new DualSense wireless controllers and console covers that look like they’ve been plucked straight out of a neon-soaked, synth-heavy fever dream.

Dropping in March 2026, these glossy black gradients melt into high-vis neon glory, designed to match those RGB-heavy rigs we all spend way too much time cable-managing.

Meet the Trio: Techno, Remix, and Rhythm

PlayStation is leaning hard into the music-inspired aesthetic here, giving each design its own “track.” So there’s a vibe for everyone:

Techno Red: This is the high-energy pick. It’s loud, it’s vibrant, and it features a seamless gradient that wraps around the entire unit. If you want your controller to be the loudest thing in the room this is the one.

Remix Green: For those who want to stand out, this neon green is giving major futuristic energy. It’s punchy and arguably the most “hyperpop” of the lot, kinda reminds me of a “Lime Splice” icecream

Rhythm Blue: A slightly more “locked-in” feel. It’s still vivid, but the blue tones offer a cooler, more electric aesthetic that looks incredible under low-light conditions. I prefer the subtley here, this is my favourite.

More Than Just a Pretty Face

You’re still getting the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers that make the DualSense the most immersive way to play. The difference here is the high-gloss finish. Sony’s design team used a specific coating to make these neons “pop” more than any previous collection.

Interestingly, the black gradient isn’t just on the front; it wraps around to the back, giving the devices a sleek, two-tone look that feels a lot more premium than a standard shell swap.

Australian Pricing and Release Dates

Now for the bit that matters to your wallet. The Hyperpop DualSense controllers will retail in Australia for an RRP of $134.95 AUD.

There’s currently no Australian release date or price for the matching PS5 console covers but they will be available in limited quantities in select markets for a RRP of $74.99 USD/¥11,480(including tax)/€74.99/£64.99.*
