West Dapto connection takes a step forward with road upgrade complete

West Dapto is a step closer to becoming better connected, with stage one of major upgrade works now complete.

Works along Fowlers Road between Fairwater Drive and Cleveland Road have wrapped up, delivering road widening, a new shared pedestrian and cycle path, stormwater improvements and new lighting.

Wollongong Lord Mayor Tania Brown says the milestone is a big win for the growing community, made possible by a $20 million investment from the NSW Government.

With housing development accelerating across the area, Cr Brown says the focus now turns to stages two and three, which will continue works along Cleveland Road, with procurement underway and construction expected to begin toward the end of 2026.
