The Illawarra Performing Arts Centre will host the inaugural TEDxWollongong event on Saturday March 7.
The University of Wollongong said researchers and alumni will feature strongly in the speaker lineup, with UOW a major sponsor of TEDxWollongong.
The Uni said the independently run TEDx events, bring the world-renowned TED idea-sharing platform, to regional communities.
