Drones will take to the skies across several Illawarra beaches today in a state government bid to keep swimmers safe from sharks.
Six Illawarra beaches will see daily patrols including North Wollongong, Shellharbour, and Kiama Surf beach.
Stanwell Park, Coledale and Gerringong will be surveilled daily during peak periods.

It’s part of $120m deterrence program, which will also the reintroduction of shark nets at 51-state beaches.
