Wollongong City Council has called for expressions of interest, with an open tender for two new skate-parks one in Wollongong and the other in Thirroul.
MacCabe Park was identified as the best location for the regional-scale skate facility in the city centre due to its accessibility, security via visibility and proximity to public transport and community facilities.
The open tender period for both skate parks runs until 20 October 2026, construction for both facilities is programmed for delivery within the current financial year.
