Illawarra families will be able to stay closer to their seriously ill kids after an upgrade to the children’s hospital at Westmead.
The new onsite accommodation is a $750,000 thousand dollar partnership between Ronald McDonald house and the NSW government, allowing regional families to stay close to kids in the cardiac and critical care units.
The facility can accommodate up to ten families, and is equipped with kitchen, laundry and communal spaces, with mental health support available.
