The St George Illawarra Dragons have officially backed Dean Young to lead the club into the future, appointing the former premiership winner as NRL head coach through to the end of 2028.

Young has been in charge on an interim basis since Round 8, stepping into the role following Shane Flanagan’s departure earlier this season.

After a lengthy recruitment process, the Dragons board and shareholders unanimously endorsed the 42-year-old as the club’s permanent coach.
