Kiama Council lifeguards, and volunteer surf lifesavers are set to hit the beaches in the area again from 26 September 2026.
Craig Bowley, Council’s supervising lifeguard, said there were four drownings at their beaches last season, all four happened in areas that were not being patrolled.
Bowley said his team racked up 396-patrol days across seven beaches last summer, as they supervised more than 263,000 people, and similar numbers are expected this season.
