A retired QantasLink Fokker 100 has made its final landing, touching down at Shellharbour Airport to begin a new chapter at the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) in Albion Park.
The aircraft, known as “Meekatharra”, has been donated by QantasLink and will become a public exhibit alongside some of Australia’s most iconic aircraft.
During its decade long service, the Fokker 100 carried around one million passengers across regional Western Australia, clocking up more than 11,000 flying hours, 7,500 flights, and millions of kilometres connecting remote communities and supporting the resources sector.
The aircraft now joins HARS’ growing collection of historic aircraft, helping preserve another chapter of Australia’s aviation history for future generations.
